Abstract of the special session:
Uncertainties are extremely important in a wide variety of areas relating to risk assessment and reliability design of structures, which have been essential topics in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and so on. A series of effective uncertainty quantification and reliability analysis approaches have been proposed and developed in recent years, including probability statistic method, data-driven method, machine learning and artificial neural network, etc. This mini-symposium is organized to highlight some of the recent advancements in the fields of stochastic dynamics and reliability analysis of structural and mechanical systems subject to complex random excitations. Relevant contributions in the areas of stochastic dynamics and structure reliability analysis of engineering structure are welcome. Topics of interests include but are not limited to the following aspects:

  • Nonlinear stochastic dynamics
  • Uncertainty quantification and analysis
  • Data-driven modeling and analysis
  • Reliability analysis of engineering structures
  • Reliability-based design optimization
  • Failure probability estimation
